Job Description

The Financial & Administrative Officer will be working under the supervision of the CFO in for several projects enhancing the performance of the organization. She/He will undertake to implement the THP’s finance and administrative services including accounting, budgeting and supervision of the proper use of facilities and resources. She/He will carry out effective recording, control and management of financial resources, and she/he will monitor all operational activities in keeping with the THP’s policies and guidelines. We are looking for an organized, problem-solving, multi-tasking, individual with great attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and excellent organizational skills who is particularly passionate about assisting refugee children and who is up for rolling up their sleeves and wearing the many hats needed to support the smooth operation of THP.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Financial Department in compiling, monitoring and reporting overall and project-specific budgets
  • Responsible for petty cash disbursements, replenishment and petty cash count
  • Ensure the compliance of administration, finance and policies and procedures
  • Assist the coordinators of the shelters, in administration and finance matters to ensure an effective management of the financial resources to ensure cost efficiency
  • Assists in preparing monthly cash-flow control sheets with original documents of all transactions of the shelters, and review payment vouchers, bank & petty cash control sheets
  • Coach and train field staff in all matters regarding financial reports
  • Manage filing/archiving of all documents and admin files (including invoices, payment vouchers, credit memos, expense reports etc.)
  • Assist in shifts and payroll administration as backup
  • Assist in management of property and equipment. Ensure all procurements of goods and services comply with procurement policy of THP.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience in ERP software will be an asset
  • Master's degree in MBA, Accounting, Economics, Marketing or a closely related discipline will be considered an asset
  • Experience working with donor-funded projects will have an added advantage; focus on civil society will be considered an asset
  • Outstanding writing, re-writing, editing and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills, in Greek and English, both written and oral
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of tasks
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
