Lone children that arrive in our shelters carry traumas not only from their long and difficult journey but from the violence and exploitation they have experienced in the streets, camps and detention centers until they found a home. In all our shelters individualized support and care is provided to every child, through a highly trained team of psychologists, social workers, intercultural mediators, and translators.
Our HOMES become healing environments where the most vulnerable receive the support that will allow them to overcome their traumas and fears and not to be defined by the abuses and exploitation that happened to them. With the right care and the provision of the appropriate services and resources we motivate and empower these kids to build a future.
The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.William James (1842-1910)
