In every conflict, children pay the highest price

As violence escalates across the Middle East, we are deeply concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children in the region. Many have already endured years of violence, displacement, and insecurity. An intensifying crisis now threatens to further uproot their lives, cutting off access to education, healthcare, protection, and the safety every child deserves.

We have witnessed time and time again the toll conflict takes. Children risk losing their homes, their schools, their sense of stability, and, far too often, their loved ones or their own lives. The impact is immediate and long-lasting.

International humanitarian law is clear: civilians must be protected. Schools and hospitals must never be targeted. Children must never be treated as collateral damage.

We call for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities and for all parties to uphold their obligations under international law. Children should never be on the frontlines of conflict. They belong in classrooms, in playgrounds, and in safe communities, not in war zones.
