Worse than a crime
“I step into the homes of The HOME Project and I see the happiest, most vibrant, and most social children I have ever met. These children don’t just have the chance to grow up. They have been given the opportunity to evolve and become part of a better society”, admits acclaimed author Christos Chomenidis (@chomenidis).
In his latest opinion piece, published on The TOC, he challenges Greece’s harsh rhetoric around migration, urging everyone -especially those in positions of power- to look beyond fear and division.
Using The Home Project as an example, he paints a vivid picture of hope, demonstrating that migrants, especially unaccompanied minors, are not a threat. If integrated in a constructive and meaningful way, they can add tremendous value to our economy, our society, and our lives.
“Migration can make us richer. Economically. But above all, emotionally”, he concludes.
